Fall Weekend

New Covid Policy for Fall Weekend, effective Immediately (for Fall Weekend only)

Fall Weekend will require all campers, staff, and committee to perform a Covid rapid-antigen test upon arrival at camp, presenting a negative test at the check-in table on Friday afternoon. All participants will bring at least two spare tests to camp to have just in case.

We will not require proof of vaccination and masks will be optional.

Good health expected, masks respected.”

Fall Dance and Music Weekend — October 6-8, 2023

Join Friends Old and New for the Lady of the Lake Fall Dance and Music Weekend. It is one of the longest continuously running contra dance camps in the entire Northwest. Fall Weekend was founded by Penn Fix and friends in 1981, and it has been held every year at Camp N-Sid-Sen on the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene ever since.

This year we have a great staff lined up:

  • George Marshall, caller
  • Engine Room, with Kelsey Wells, Alex Sturbaum, and Noah VanNorstrand
  • Laurie Andres, piano accordion extraordinaire
  • Cathy Dark, international folk dances and Scandinavian dances

Marron Scholarship

Lady of the Lake now offers $50.00 scholarships to help young contradance musicians, callers, and organizers experience our Fall Music and Dance Weekend. The Marron Scholarship is offered in honor of Pat and Vickie Marron, who contributed so much to Lady of the Lake dance camps for decades, nurturing countless dance musicians, callers, and organizers. We hope to carry their goodwill and dedication forward.

Applicants should send a brief bio with a short description of how they participate in their dance community, to fall-weekend [ a t ] ladyofthelake.org

Registration opens May 1st and closes October 6th. Register and submit payment by regular mail or electronically via PayPal when accessed from the Lady of the Lake website. In the event a Covid-19 surge results in Camp N-Sid-Sen restricting the number of campers we can register, we will offer places in the order of registration and received payment.

New for 2023 : We’re offering a Sliding Scale for payment — see below, under ‘Camp Fees.’
