Fall Weekend

Registration opens May 1st

Fall Dance and Music Weekend — October 4-6, 2024

Join Friends Old and New for the Lady of the Lake Fall Dance and Music Weekend. It is one of the longest continuously running contra dance camps in the entire Northwest. Fall Weekend was founded by Penn Fix and friends in 1981, and it has been held every year at Camp N-Sid-Sen on the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene ever since.

This year we have a great staff lined up:

  • Jesse Partridge, contra caller (and fiddler and dancer and contra enthusiast)
  • 3 Wheel Drive, with River Scheuerell, Dante Faulk, and Eros Faulk playing energizing contra music
  • Suzanne Girardot, caller of many and varied dances, with plenty in the Quebecois tradition
  • La Famille Léger, with Louis Léger, Devon Léger, Dejah Léger, playing music of French Canada

Registration

Registration opens May 1st. Register and submit payment by regular mail or electronically via PayPal. In the event we receive more registrations than we can accomodate, we will offer places in the order of registration and received payment.

We are again offering a Sliding Scale for payment — see details (and more about online payments) under ‘Camp Fees’ below.

Camp Information

Come join us at Camp N-Sid-Sen, an idyllic 257 acres of tall pine and fir forest on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene. There is nearly a mile of lakeshore, hiking trails, boats and beach. The camp has a beautiful dance hall (separate from the dining hall), multiple workshop sites, clean and tidy cabins, delicious food, and more.

Housing, Camping, and Food

Twelve cedar cabins sleep 6 to 12 people each. All have bunk beds with mattresses provided, electric lights, and heat. Tent or RV camping space is available for those who prefer. If you are camping, please let us know in the Comments field in the registration form. The cabins do not have bathrooms, but there are ample shared bathroom/shower facilities.

Balanced meals include dairy products, meat and fish. Meatless alternatives and/or dairy free and/or gluten free are provided for those who specify these preferences at the time of registration. No other food needs or severe allergies will be accommodated. There is some refrigerator space available if you need to bring your own food.

2024 Camp Fees

Camp fees include cabin accommodations or camping, five nutritious and tasty meals, frequent snacks, and a weekend full of delightful dancing and entertainment.

Payment Options: We offer a sliding scale to help make camp affordable and accessible to as many campers as possible. Paying the “break even” amount ($280) enables us to cover our costs. If you are able to pay more, it will help dancers attend who can’t quite afford the break even amount. The registration form offers four choices from which to select (shown below), with space for an additional amount. Please note that the minimum payment amount is $195.

  • $195
  • $280
  • $315
  • $350

Whichever amount is chosen, please send full payment at the time of registration. When your payment is received, your registration will be complete. If you choose to pay online instead of by check, the link for Fall Weekend payment is here.
(Please initiate any online payments to Lady of the Lake from our website, not from PayPal).
